Landlord / manager must return the deposit to tenant within 14 days of the end of the rental period, unless certain matters are being settled with the deposit; then the remaining amount is to be returned within 30 days of the end of the rental period.
The following things may be settled using the deposit:
- overdue rental payments
- service costs
- damages to the property caused by tenant
- energy performance compensation
The tenant must be informed in writing regarding the matter. A full specification of the costs must also be included.
